1) Pre heat oven to 180oc
2) Cover dates with water and add pinch of bicarbonate and boil
Cool the dates, then blend and set aside
3) Cream together the brown sugar butter until pale
Beat 1 large egg
Add a little at a time to the sugar and butter
4) Sieve flour together with teaspoon of baking powder
Add this into the butter mix slowly stir together
Add in the blended dates
Pour into 4 buttered & floured moulds.
5) Steam in a covered Bain Marie in the oven for 40 minutes.
Finally, Serve with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
